Dr Muhammad Nawaz
Dr
Muhammad Nawaz is geographer/geomorphologists and specializes in
Geographic Information System (GIS) and Decision Support Systems
(DSS).
He
was awarded PhD in Earth and Environmental Sciences from Charles
Darwin University in 2011. He also has completed two other
postgraduate research degrees; a Master Science in Geography, and
Master of Science in Geoinformatics, as well as Bachelor of Science
and Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching and Learning.
Since
1993, Dr Nawaz has served in several different universities including
Punjab University in Pakistan, and the Faculty of Geoinformation
Science & Earth Observation (ITC), University of Twente in
Netherlands.
He
has very sound experience and knowledge in the design, development,
delivery, coordination and teaching of courses related to Geography,
GIS and Environmental Science to undergraduate and postgraduate level
students.
Dr
Nawaz has more than 20 years of research over a broad range of issues
relating to catchment management and sustainable development. Before
joining CDU, Nawaz was Assistant Professor at GIS Centre, University
of the Punjab, Pakistan.
He
has conducted multi-disciplinary research in many catchments of the
world including Darwin Harbour and Daly River catchment, Australia,
Mangla Reservoir catchment, Pakistan and Saddang Watershed,
TanaToraja, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Dr
Nawaz is looking for teaching / administrative role in Northern
Territory, Australia.
