Spatial Jobs Online News Bulletin
April 2013 Issue 48
Everyone reads the news, so you don’t need my thoughts on those bits, but what a crazy couple of weeks we’ve had. At the time of writing the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings has just been captured and without going into the actual crimes, the resulting media attention has relied heavily on social media. Where once the public were the audience now, for good or bad, the general populace are taking it upon themselves to assist in the operations.
Live updates on news sites reference the Boston Mayor and the Boston Police Department’s Twitter feeds; indeed the announcement that the second suspect had been detained first came out across Twitter. Youtube accounts, VK (A European social site), reddit, Facebook and other social sites have all been utilised in this world event. The power of social media definitely cannot be ignored.
As always Spatial Jobs Online is the best spot to find new opportunities as soon as they’re posted. Some great opportunities from the Bureau of Meteorology and Integrity Executive this time.
We hope you all enjoy this edition of the bulletin.
