Spatial Jobs Online News Bulletin

June 2013 Issue 51

Hi party-people, I hope everyone is great out there. The cold weather looks like it’s here to stay, and, as at time of typing, it’s raining outside here in Newcastle. Good weather to stay inside with a cup of tea and listen to Triple J’s Hottest 100 of the last 20 years on YouTube (click here for the link).

Now for a teaser, for all you employers out there we’ve got something exciting coming out in the very near future...

Some great jobs online at this time, with GIS Analyst roles and a great role with the Australian Wildlife Conservancy.

Don’t forget, if you have an interesting article you think would be good to see in the newsletter? Please feel free to drop it over to us at info@spatialjobs.com.au

In the run-up to the end of the financial year we’re profiling NGIS, who are offering an End of Financial Year GIS training special. NGIS are offering a 10% discount on their industry leading GIS training courses, if you register and pay before the end of this financial year. Check out all the latest GIS course offerings here: http://www.ngis.com.au/ngisweb/events/upcoming-courses/

Sick of doing more work for the same pay? Join the club

See below an interesting article in SMH: Sick of doing more work for no pay? Join the club. The article deals with non-monetary methods of keeping employees engaged and motivated.

From a personal perspective I was formerly paid a better wage than I am now, however my boss at the time was a tyrant, leading to an unhappy and de-motivated workforce. Contrary to this, my next job was for less pay, but for a much nicer boss. As a result, I was far happier, both at work and at home.

People seek to earn more money because they think it will make them happier. From my personal experience, this was incorrect; less money meant a far more content me.
