A new name at UNSW for the School – Surveying and Geospatial Engineering

A new name at UNSW for the School – Surveying and Geospatial Engineering

On the 1st July 2012 the school changed its name to the "School of Surveying and Geospatial Engineering" (acronym: SAGE). There were a number of reasons why we did so.  The new name links us in a more meaningful way with the UNSW Faculty of Engineering, of which we are a long-standing part.  The new school name also better reflects the fact that our graduate engineers now have several career options, from the well-established career path as professional surveyors, to the myriad opportunities in new industries that develop or use geospatial technologies.   Note that SAGE offers two degree programs:  Bachelor of Engineering (surveying) and Bachelor of Engineering (GeoInformation Systems).

Come join us for the "launch of the new school name" at 4.30pm, on Friday 3 August, at the Doncaster Hotel, Kensington. Your invitation is attached. I look forward to seeing you.
