Spatial Jobs - Interview Tips

Here are a few interview tips that can assist you with getting that next great career opportunity.

1. Preparation

Be prepared for the interview.

Don't be late

2. Appearance

Be well groomed for the interview, make the best first impression as you can.

3. Questions

There will be a range of normal interview questions that you can prepare for. For example "why are you applying for this role", "what are you strengths and weaknesses", "tell us about your skills", etc

Use the position description to get more specific questions about the role.

Write down as many questions and your answers as you can think of. Keep your answers short but to the point. Read this as many times as possible

With every question include a personal example that shows you can do what you are talking about.

Not many people use this tip but I can guarantee it will change how you answer your questions - record your answers and listen to them. When you have listened to them, ask yourself does that sound good, would I be happy with that answer if I was on the interview panel. If not rewrite your answer, record it again and listen to it until you feel comfortable with the answer.

4. Research

Research the company, the culture, the people, the town, the role.

5. The Interview

Try to be relaxed. This is easier said than done but try to approach the interview from the angle that they need you more than you need them.

Keep your answers short. It is fine to ask the interview panel if they require more information.

Give personal examples to your questions.

Ask the panel questions about the role / company to show your interest.

6. Good Luck

Good luck with your interview.
